"This was my first eLance project. I selected smartData, Inc. out of 22 bids. Their bid was one of the highest dollar amounts bid. Yet, because of their track record, and the importance of my project, I was willing to spend more money becaue the project was important to me. While I am an American entrepreneur, and they are a company with an office in India , they are unique in that they have an office in Silicon Valley, in California , as well.As I understand it, smartData has now grown to dozens of employees. For me, knowing a company is stable, and in this case growing, provides a level of security. Also, the Agreement that they entered into with me, includes a maintenance Agreement of my web site for follow-on work, at a reasonable rate. I think that the company provides good value. And, they were ready to spend the time working through the challenges that come with the project that I had embarked on with them, to create a business-to-business ecommerce site. The product that they have delivered to me has functionality that allows me to make modifications myself, even though I am not a programmer. While that was part of the specifications for the project, I think that it is important to let others know that this was a complex venture, which required attention to detail. Finally, the best thing I liked about smartData was that they were willing to make the changes that needed to be changed, without rushing me through the process.
