smartData at 27: A Milestone with the Future in Focus

smartData’s 27th Founder’s Day offered more than a reason to celebrate. It created a moment for teams across the organisation to consider what has sustained the company so far—and what must change as it enters its next phase.

Colleagues came together across smartData’s locations to recognise the milestone, reconnect with one another and acknowledge the collective effort behind the company’s progress. The occasion reflected an organisation proud of its history but unwilling to be defined only by it.

Turning Experience into a New Advantage

During his Founder’s Day address, Mr Ajay Tewari, Managing Director and Global CEO, placed particular emphasis on the years ahead.

The technology market is changing quickly. Clients now expect more than successful software delivery. They need systems that fit into existing operations, respond to changing demands and continue producing value as their organisations grow.

smartData’s experience provides a strong base for meeting these expectations. Its next stage, however, will require the company to convert that experience into repeatable capabilities, stronger intellectual property and solutions with a clearer industry focus.

This represents a significant evolution: from completing individual technology assignments to creating structured digital foundations that can support clients over the long term.

Advancing an AI-First, Platform-Led Model

smartData is moving towards an operating model in which platforms, reusable components and intelligent automation work alongside its established engineering and consulting expertise.

The Productised Service Model and reusable smartPods are helping bring greater consistency to this approach. They allow teams to apply proven knowledge across engagements while still adapting each implementation to a client’s operational needs.

This direction is also reflected in two developing platform suites:

  • smartCareAI™, created around the needs of modern healthcare environments.
  • smartAgenticAI™, focused on intelligent automation within enterprise operations.

The objective is not simply to add AI features to existing software. It is to identify where intelligence can solve a genuine operational problem—whether by improving decisions, reducing repetitive effort, connecting fragmented processes or helping teams respond more effectively.

As these capabilities develop, responsible implementation will remain important. Security, governance, explainability and interoperability must be considered from the beginning rather than added after deployment.

Preparing People for the Next Phase

The Founder’s Day message also recognised that organisational change depends on people as much as technology.

New platforms and tools can create opportunities, but their value comes from teams that understand how to apply them. Continuous learning, practical experimentation and greater ownership will be essential as smartData expands its capabilities.

This makes talent development part of the company’s business strategy. By helping smarTians strengthen their technical knowledge, industry understanding and leadership skills, smartData can prepare both its people and its clients for the changes ahead.

A Milestone That Points Forward

The 27th Founder’s Day recognised everyone who has contributed to smartData’s progress—its people, clients, partners and leaders.

It also marked the beginning of a new stage: one shaped by platform thinking, responsible AI, reusable intellectual property and deeper industry expertise.

The significance of completing 27 years lies not only in the distance travelled. It lies in having the experience to make better choices about what comes next.

For smartData, the celebration was a pause in the journey—not its destination.
