Product Summary
Teledocs.app, a telehealth platform for a clinic-network operator, needed the admin, provider and forms workflows of a more mature EHR, plus multi-tenancy, subscriptions and AI, to become a product other clinic operators could adopt . smartData is taking over the codebase, refactoring it around a component integration layer, and reusing proven modules from its multi-tenant Impact Health EHR. AI SOAP notes, scribe, translation, coding review, denial analysis and e-prescribing are added on top, delivered in a 10-week plan covering 27 modules.
Features
- Proven Impact Health modules reused for appointments, provider calendars, custom forms, questionnaires and RBAC
- AI-generated SOAP notes and an AI scribe to reduce provider documentation effort
- Real-time doctor-patient translation during telehealth consultations
- Multi-tenant SaaS with subscription and plan management and organization and clinic onboarding
- AI coding review with superbill support and ERA/835 denial claim analysis
Technical Challenges
- Taking over a live codebase and refactoring it without disrupting existing clinic workflows. : Used weeks 1–2 for environment handover, technical analysis and refactoring, and set up CI/CD with separate environments before starting new feature work.
- Fitting Impact Health modules into Teledocs.app’s different architecture without duplicating logic. : Assessed each component’s fit up front and built an integration layer, so calendars, forms and RBAC plug in instead of being rewritten.
- Applying AI to patient data and meeting EPCS requirements for controlled-substance e-prescribing. : Scoped SOAP notes, scribe and translation as separate tracks with HIPAA-compliant data handling requirements, and gave e-prescribing with EPCS its own integration track.
- Delivering eight parallel tracks in ten weeks while keeping releases stable. : Grouped the 27 modules into eight independent tracks after the takeover phase, and reserved weeks 9–10 for UAT, integration testing and go-live.
