From Desks to the Himalayas: smartians at Adi Kailash Parikrama Run 2.0

Some experiences take you far beyond your everyday routine. For a group of smartians, that meant swapping their usual workdays for running shoes, mountain roads and the breathtaking landscapes of Uttarakhand.

Our colleagues recently participated in Adi Kailash Parikrama Run 2.0, a high-altitude running event held in Pithoragarh. Bringing together around 1,100 participants from 26 Indian states, the event featured challenging race categories, including a 70 km ultra-marathon and a 42 km marathon.

Taking on the Himalayan Challenge

Representing smartData in the 70 km ultra-marathon were Ajay Tewari, Mohinder Singh, Shashi Bhushan and Aparna Tewari.

Our colleagues Vivek Sharma, Col. Munish Bhanot, Aashish Tewari, Abhishek Jeena, Pankaj Kachewar and Sandeep Gusain also joined the event in the 42 km marathon category.

Running long distances is challenging on its own. Doing it in the Himalayas, surrounded by steep mountain roads, cold weather and high-altitude conditions, makes the experience even more demanding.

It takes preparation, patience and the determination to keep going when things get difficult.

More Than Just a Race

What makes an event like Adi Kailash Parikrama Run special isn’t only the distance covered. It’s the experience of being there, meeting fellow runners, encouraging one another and taking on something completely different from everyday life.

For our smartians, it was an opportunity to step away from their usual schedules and be part of an experience that brought together people from across the country.

And with the Himalayas as the backdrop, it was certainly a memorable setting for a marathon.

Celebrating Our People Beyond Work

At smartData, we often celebrate professional milestones, team achievements and the work our colleagues do every day. But there’s just as much to appreciate about the interests and ambitions they pursue outside the office.

Seeing our colleagues take part in an event like this is a reminder of the many different passions that make up our team.
